Louisiana Economic Development Certification
Taimerica is currently developing for LIDEA, the Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association, an Economic Development Certification program designed for those ED professionals, Chamber of Commerce staff, elected officials, and local civic leaders who are interested in learning more about economic development. This high quality program, second to none in the U.S., will be taught by nationally recognized experts and all content is tailored specifically to the state of Louisiana. The Louisiana Basic ED Course will be held Feb. 23-26, 2010. The course is accredited by the International Economic Development Council. It fulfills one of the prerequisites for those who wish to take the examinations for the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation. The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to helping economic developers do their job more effectively and raising the profile of the profession. When we succeed, our members create more high-quality jobs, develop more vibrant communities, and generally improve the quality of life in their regions.

The Economic Development Marketing and Attraction Course will be held May 18-19, 2010, and it will be taught by Rob DeRocker, formerly of DCI, and Mark James of ED Solutions.
The Economic Development Finance Course will be held Sept. 21-22, 2010.
The Building the Workforce of the Future Course will be held Nov. 9-10, 2010, and it will be taught by Ted Abernathy of the Southern Growth Policies Board and Jeff Lynn of Louisiana Economic Development.
The first Louisiana Basic Economic Development Course was held March 2-5, 2009 at the
Louisiana Emerging Technology Center on the LSU campus.
The Louisiana Real Estate Development and Reuse Course was taught by Mark Waterhouse, President of Garnet Consulting, and was held June 30-July 1, 2009 at the Association of Louisiana Electric Cooperatives in Baton Rouge.
The Louisiana Business Retention and Expansion Course was held Sept. 10-11, 2009 at the Association of Louisiana Electric Cooperatives in Baton Rouge. It was taught in part by Eric Canada of Blane, Canada Ltd.
The Louisiana Strategic Planning Course, taught by Dr. Dave Kolzow, was held Nov. 17-18, 2009 at the Association of Louisiana Electric Cooperatives in Baton Rouge.
