Clark County, AR:  Small Community with Big Plans

Clark County, Arkansas is a community on the move. Taimerica got involved in their Strategic Planning effort last year and discovered a great community with a wide variety of assets and natural resources. We also discovered unprecedented energy and grass roots support for the work. Local leadership and the people worked together seamlessly to get organized as a community, and together they developed a comprehensive plan and vision for the future (http://www.clarkcountyplan.org/). And already this community is enjoying some success: a sales tax for Economic Development was passed resoundingly by the voters in July and will take effect this month. This community is now recruiting an Executive Director for the Clark County Economic Development and we are delighted to include the job ad here.

Clark County EDC Executive Director Position

The Clark County Economic Development Corporation is seeking an Executive Director. Applicant must be a proven leader in economic development, with a demonstrated knowledge of business recruitment and retention, governmental affairs and public finance. Ten years of Economic Development experience is required, five of which must be in an executive capacity. A bachelor's degree or higher is preferred. Economic Development certification credentials are required. Clark County is uniquely positioned for economic growth. Ideally situated on Interstate 30, the County is home to over 20,000 residents, abundant natural resources, two nationally recognized universities (Henderson State University and Ouachita Baptist University), a regional hospital, a large lake (Lake Degray) and portions of two major rivers (the Ouachita and Caddo). The Corporation is funded by a dedicated sales tax generating over $1,000,000 per year.
