Dear Client and Friend,
As you have seen via the national news, everyone in the New Orleans area, including Taimerica, has been affected by Hurricane Katrina. This really is a disaster of Biblical proportions. It’s hard to describe the scale of the damage. Wind and water damage are severe to most businesses and residences throughout the MS and LA Gulf Coasts. Our own city, Mandeville has been hard hit with wind damage. We saw hundreds of 18” diameter pine trees snapped like matches from the high winds. Parts of the city near Lake Pontchartrain have simply vanished from the storm surge.
We are blessed with minimal wind damage so our offices and my home are safe. My associates and I all evacuated so everyone is safe. We have water and sewer service, but our only electricity is via backup generator, which we operate periodically because of the fuel shortage. Our internet connection is working on dialup but this limits us to either phone or internet service. If you call and get a busy signal, try the cell phone number of (504) 251-2548. Our ISP in New Orleans is not operating, so the ebee@taimierca.com email is not working. You can use our backup service to contact us: taimeric@bellsouth.net.
Considering the disaster that surrounds us on all sides, we thank our Lord that we are safe and secure—a lesson that we have relearned from these events. We have all of the necessities of life and now appreciate, even more-so, luxuries like refrigeration and air conditioning. We are almost back to a normal operation. As the airports reopen, our travel options will improve and we will be back to full capacity.
It’s important that all businesses in the New Orleans area get operational as soon as possible. Since most will be out of service for 6 months or more, the economic situation will soon become dire, and the area needs to generate new cash flow to maintain itself. Taimerica values your business so please contact us with any proposals or projects where our expertise is needed. We are back to work and will complete all of our current assignments on schedule and pledge that we will maintain this same standard for any new work that we secure.
Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers. Keep praying because the human misery here, particularly within Orleans Parish, is so intense.
Regards,
Ed Bee
